Brian Josephs, M.D. from OB Hospitalist Group, serving SA国际传媒RMH Medical Center Family Birthplace in Harrisonburg, Virginia, is the recipient of the 17th annual Golden Stethoscope Award. The award recognizes outstanding physicians on the SA国际传媒RMH Medical Staff who demonstrate excellence in patient care, customer service, communication, and teamwork. 

The Golden Stethoscope Award is announced annually as part of the hospital’s recognition of on March 30.

With more than 400 physicians on the medical staff, SA国际传媒RMH Medical Center had 143 Golden Stethoscope Award submissions with 37 individuals receiving nominations this year. All hospital team members, as well as staff in the local independent medical practices, can submit nominations.

"Dr. Josephs is respected and trusted by his peers and patients," said Dr. Robert Garwood, chief medical officer for SA国际传媒RMH Medical Center. “He keeps his team well-informed, fosters a collaborative environment and serves as an exceptional mentor. His sound judgment and thoughtful decision making ensure the highest standard of care for his patients.”  

Joining the medical staff in November 2023, Dr. Josephs helped launch the SA国际传媒RMH OB hospitalist program. He leads the hospital-based team of board-certified OB/GYN physicians and certified nurse midwives, with providers on-site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

“Dr. Joseph's peers call him a ‘wonderful physician who patients adore.’ They shared their admiration for his calm approach, mentorship of colleagues, and involving and leading patients through difficult decisions,” added Garwood. 

Labor and delivery patients give positive feedback about the care and attention that Dr. Josephs gives them and appreciate his kind, caring demeanor. The nursing team on Family Birthplace consistently shares feedback about how much they enjoy working with him, how collegial he is, and how responsive he is to their questions or concerns.
