SA国际传媒 has adopted a new operating model to drive growth, improve collaboration across our divisions, and better meet community needs.

Sentara's hospitals will now operate under a market-based structure, with eastern, northwestern, and two southeastern markets each reporting to their own market president.

Eric Conley, Sentara’s executive vice president and president of acute and post-acute care, said the new, market-based approach aligns with industry best practices and supports efforts to create a simple, seamless, personal, and more affordable experience for our patients, members, and communities.

“The new structure allows us to tailor our approach and operational strategies based on the unique needs of each community, while still benefiting from the consistency and coordination of market-based leadership,” said Conley.

Adopting a market-based model

As part of the reorganization, Sentara’s hospital operations have been divided into the following four markets:

The new model enhances coordination and collaboration across Sentara’s integrated healthcare system, which spans hospitals, outpatient clinics, and health plan offerings.

Benefits of the new approach include improving outcomes, encouraging the sharing of innovations, and positioning ourselves for continued growth and excellence.

“The model ensures our local efforts are part of a cohesive market and regional-level strategy that creates collaborative and complementary acute service offerings rather than competing ones and sets the stage for future growth," Conley said.

Sentara, a not-for-profit health care delivery system, employs 34,000 people and operates 12 hospitals in Virginia and northeastern North Carolina, including 10 hospitals with the prestigious Magnet® recognition.
